UK Day 18: London Zoo

Today I slept in a little bit, then we left on a train and tube to the London Zoo! Very exciting day to say the least. We started off going over to Otters and Dwarf Mongooses because they had a presenter there talking about them. Cailey was absolutely in love with Dwarf Mongooses and how they look and their behavior. Otters are always cute. We then walked over to a rainforest building. It was fascinating, you got to walk into the enclosure and there were monkeys, turtles, bats and sloths just chilling around us.

There was then a nocturnal section in the same building downstairs, and I got to see my second favorite monkey/primate, a bushbaby. Incredibly difficult to see in the dark and notice all the nocturnal animals but Cailey and I were able to see a few. We then walked over to the African animals section and got to see a few animals such as Zebras, Giraffe and Ostriches.

From there we walked over to the Komodo Dragons, then the Outback Safari area, which had cute wallabies. Got to see some Gibbons then moved over to look at the Gorillas that were super cool. We moved toward the Butterfly Paradise but Matt had to go at that point for a meeting and Abby was warm and had stuff to do so she went too. It was really pretty and lots of butterflies. Similar to the rainforest area, it had to be hot and humid, so outside was way better than in those places. We moved all the way up to "In with the Monkeys", another enclosure where you got to be in the area with the monkeys. We then explored another little bit and went to the gift shop. Cailey got postcards and a butterfly pin. I got Mom a gift and some pins for myself.

We then headed home and chilled until dinner, which was grilled sandwiches. We watched some Shaun the Sheep then Taskmaster.

Tomorrow is another big museum so it should be fun and another long day.

Lots of photos!
